This study assessed ecological impacts of climate change on some geo-morphosites and geo-heritage resources in Northeastern Nigeria. M-GAM was conducted with 50 respondents in each of the six states of the region which makes a total of 300 participants. Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and In-depth interviews was conducted with the special peoples such as: Head of Tourism Centers, Conservators of National Parks, Traditional leaders etc. The study revealed that climate change exerted significant impacts on geo-morphosite and geo-heritage resources with heavy rainfall and high temperature as the major causes. The ecological stress could be seen in biodiversity loss and change/loss of habitat and no effort to restore climate change effect on them. The study concludes that climate change has brought severe and far-reaching effects to the ecological values of the resources in the region as seen from loss of biodiversity, species migration & extinction, habitat loss and poor productivity. The study recommended that state ministry of environment & climate change and state tourism centres should enforce laws against excessive exploitation of ecological diversity of geo-morphosites and geo-heritage resources to avoid migration and/or extinction of ecological species living in the sites. Local communities should also be encourage for geo-conservation effort toward ecological values of geo-morphosites and geo-heritage resources.
